Abstract

The water crisis in Iran and its subsequent challenges are inevitable and certain. According to the research, Iran is on the verge of water bankruptcy. On this basis, savings should be made in all consumption sectors and any kind of water wastage should be avoided. Due to the low water tariff and water price in Iran, the necessary care is usually not taken in water consumption in the domestic sector and the water tap remains closed for longer than the required time, which causes a significant amount of water to be wasted. In this research, an attempt has been made to determine the amount of wasted water and its costs in different time steps with the help of data and scientific and technical calculations, according to the time of use of household water faucets, as well as the effect of the time the faucet remains open, in the form of The cost of water supply for the government and the household should be calculated so that the deterrent effects of this issue can be well investigated.
